Opportunity
Create a new product that solves a real-world problem, paired with a mobile app that helps implement the solution.

SOLUTION
My team and I created the Solia Sensor, a wearable sensor device that measures UV light exposure. The device displays two toggling countdown timers showing the amount of time left until the next time to rehydrate and reapply sunscreen. When the time runs up, the device alerts the user with their preferred alert setting determined in the Solia App. The Solia Sensor determines these measurements of time by gathering information from multiple causes of exposure, such as the angle of the sun, cloud coverage, geographic location, and moisture contact.

The Solia Sensor pairs with the Solia App by receiving the user's information, such as location, skin type, and history of sunburn susceptibility. This enables the Solia Sensor to make accurate alerts. It also displays the current weather, more detailed sunscreen and hydration reminders, and tips about staying safe in the sun. The weather screens feature a bar that shows the times of day when sun exposure is the highest and when the most precautions should be taken.

The Solia Sensor is reinforced by an integrated campaign, including a website, banner ads, and non-digital touchpoints.
